January 2016: Rainow Pre- School

Children at Rainow Preschool began their session listening to the songs of different birds. They learned about the sounds that Robins, Blackbirds, Blue tits and House sparrows make and then looked at pictures of the birds in preparation for their birdwatching walk.

After learning how to use binoculars safely the children put on coats, hats, scarves and gloves. The walk down the lane was full of birdsong. Robins sang out and Jackdaws and Wood pigeons flew overhead.
